After doing a cartshed garage for me, MWT were involved right from the start of planning the conversion of a small barn next to my 17th century listed cottage and linking it to the main house, together with a number of changes to the main house. The end result is fantastic, matches the old house perfectly (you can’t even see the join between the old and the new roof) and bang on budget too (other than a few extras such as some old church beams I asked for – which they managed to find too!) Constantly puts a smile on my face.

MWT built our converted barn and we were delighted with all aspects of their work. It was a tricky project with different levels on a sloping site and the end result has exceeded all our expectations. MWT were nominated by the local Building Control department for an award for the excellence of their construction work – a nomination well-deserved in our opinion. MWT employ skilled and experienced craftsmen in every trade – from carpenters to bathroom tilers, from groundwork experts to roofers. And what’s more, each of them is a pleasant person, making for a happy working environment for both their colleagues and us as clients. All requests for ‘could you do/change this for us’ were always met with positive and cheerful responses. Mark Tompkins will not settle for second best – and that goes for the ‘hidden’ aspects of any building as well as those on display at the end. We found he worked to contract and to budget, with extras being quoted for fairly and promptly so we always knew where we stood on the financial commitment front. And where issues arose (don’t they always – and often because of our changes of mind!) they were resolved speedily and with no fuss. Would we use his services again? Absolutely!! Would we recommend him to friends? Without any concerns whatsoever!!

I’ve know the builder since I was a child, and his father used to work with my father, so it’s all come full circle, “ says Helen. “They’ve been amazing, and made our lives very easy because they already had the local connections, which you really need when you’re building a house”.

We have used MWT for the construction of a studio and shower room above the garage and for a number of different items in the house over the last two years. The response and quality of work have been excellent.

We are very pleased with our re-modelled and extended house. Mark and his team were professional throughout and kept us informed on progress during the project.
